In My Bag : A 3-Day Trip to Kuala Lumpur

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I've mentioned before that I have actually went to a surprise holiday trip to KL, it was unplanned and it wasn't something that I was ready for. LOL. But anyways, since it was just for 3 days, I didn't bother to bring a lot with me. I didn't even bring my brushes.

On the skincare side, I basically brought the necessities, here it is:
- Pantene's Anti Dandruff Shampoo
- Clear Contact Lens Solution
- Rosken Bio Serum
- Lipice Lipbalm
- Follow Me's Facial Cleanser
- Lady Speedstick
- Essence's Refreshing Toner
- Sunscreen
- Fair & Lovely Multivitamin Cream AND OXY 10 Medication (in a contact lens case)

Also, for my makeup, I just brought my favorite concealer by The Faceshop (it was depotted onto a pink jar), a lip tint, tinted lipbalm, two liquid liners, Essence's Long Lasting Pencil in Brown, Cyber Color's Eyebrow Crayon and Silkygirl's mascara.

I didn't bother to bring BB Creams or foundation because let's face it, I'm more interested in shopping than making myself look pretty at that time, so I just appy Clean & Clear's SPF Moisturizer and apply concealer to where it needs to be applied, use the lip tints, apply eyeliners and mascara, then I'm done, I didn't even bother to bring eyeshadows because I know for a fact that I will definitely buy some while I'm in KL!

Beauty Bought : My first trip to KL

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I had a surprise getaway with my family to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for just a few days at the end of May. I think I went crazy with spending all my money on the trip. I had fun, I will post up a more detailed blogpost on my next post.

Anyways, I've actually missed out a few things on my haul post, where I've actually bought a few blouses, maxi skirts, hijabs and a messenger bag. I'm not sure if my readers are particularly interested in what my fashion sense is, I could tell you now that it's very simple.

While I was in KL, I stayed at Cititel Hotel at Midvalley, the Midvalley Mall itself is very busy mall, I can tell you now that I've actually haven't gone through the mall thoroughly, everytime I went down to the mall, I will still end up be surprised of finding a few stores that I'd like to explore.

I am currently on a quest to find the perfect nail polish for me to wear when I'm on my "holidays", I was so happy to see SASA, Inglot, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Shu Eumera(sp?), Clinique! It was makeup heaven, I tell you!

I've also encountered Daiso, I know Daiso is somewhat a cheap store, I didn't expect all the stuff in the store to be RM5 each! I've made quite a few nasty purchases. I bought those pink pliers and I don't even know what to use it for! LOL! But I guess it would come in handy in the future. I also made a few purchase on the makeups there but I wasn't sure about the quality, so I didn't buy a lot, I wanted to buy some for a swap that I'm currently collecting for, but I was afraid of the quality of the product would do me no good.

I've also bought a cheap Android tablet somewhere in the Lowyat area for the purpose of developing our Android app for our Final Year Project and bought two books at MPH Bookstore that would help me, InshaAllah to get through the project. I think I'd make a review on the Android tablet itself!

In terms of makeup, I was glad that I didn't do much damage, I bought a palette from Elianto on which I will review it soon! I might make a few FOTDs out of it. I also purchased a foundation from Rimmel and I think I regret buying it because it is 3 shades darker and it is quite on the warm side. But anyways, reviews will be up soon.

I also went to Sephora but I just bought a few NYX stuff as when I went to the Benefit's stand, I was unimpressed with all their stuffs there. And the fact that they are very expensive that I didn't go for their products, maybe next time!

Gadget Gossip : My Laptop

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

A new section for my blog! I can't wait to write up about gadgets in this section more :D

So, I'm more to buying stuffs for my laptop rather than buying makeups these days. I hardly even hauled any makeup for this month of May(shocking, I know!), except that I've been buying too many skincare products lol.

Ever since my laptop died on me, I was able to pick up the courage to actually screw open my laptop. I've done it several times that it doesn't bother me so much when I see my laptop out in the open where I can see the motherboard and such.

To me, it's such an achievement that I was able to open all this up and manage to source out any few problems that's hovering in my laptop. It costs me $300+ to fix this baby up to make sure it looks good and new.

Some people actually told me that it's better to actually just buy a new laptop but I don't think so! For a girl like me who studies in computing, any cheap laptop does not justify on how I use my laptop. I use my laptop for programming, a little bit of designing, gaming, surfing the Internet and blogging. Also, I think of this laptop as a tool for me to do everything. I even use my laptop to revise for my tests and exams.

But to me, the $300+ is justified, I mean, imagine how much I would have to spend if I were to ever actually send it to the nearest repair shop. I could see thousands of dollars going out just to fix this baby.

This is the culprit to the mess that I'm going through, the fried motherboard. There's a few other stuffs that I bought from eBay to restore this laptop to its former glory.

- Motherboard US$129 + US$30
- Bottom Case US$70.61 + Free Shipping
- Hinges US$9.99 + US$9.99
- Battery US$23.72 + US$13.48

Altogether = US$286.79 or B$352.75

To Bruneians, most of you know how much is our university allowance and I pretty much spent all of it to restoring my laptop. I've actually heard a story where a girl actually send her laptop to Singapore so they can actually fix the motherboard because the in the girl's laptop, there was pictures, videos and stuff that she thinks of was of high value.

And it costs her $2000+ to fix it. She could just gotten a new laptop or just screw off the internal harddisk and take it to make it as an external harddisk. She can actually ask someone who knows how to screw open a laptop to retrieve the harddisk for free.

Then just buy a new laptop, done. So can you see where I get off with this story? If I send this baby out to a repair shop, $2000+ can easily be ripped off by me. Minus shipping the laptop from-to Singapore, which would cost around $200 using DHL, there's the extra $1800. Then a motherboard can cost you about $200, but you have the $1600.

I'll stop here and you can make it into a conclusion how ridiculous it is.

But fortunately, I have a friend who is so nice of him to actually help me with restoring my laptop. Although there was actually a few of my friends who are willing to help me fix my laptop, I always turn their offer down and ask this friend to help me because of the trust I have of him handling my laptop.

This is my baby, I worked with this baby for 2 years and running, I don't want just any person to handle it. LOL! All I need to do is to reformat the laptop! I don't mind investing and spending all my money towards my laptop because of the fact that it helped me through thick and thin throughout my years in ITB, so why should I abandon this laptop.

So, I'm not just a pretty face that uses laptop with such ignorance of technical knowledge anymore. One way or another, I'm glad that this laptop made such a chaos in my life as I've learnt a lot of things on how to fix this baby. My advice to all you ladies out there, it's nice to have a friend who actually has technical knowledge on how to fix your laptops and other gadgets because you save more money that way.

FOTD : What I wore to school

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Back with not just one, but two FOTDs for you pretty ladies. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to taking pictures of myself and post FOTDs into my Instagram or anything. I'm not sure about my OOTDs though, not sure if anyone is interested in my OOTDs but if you girls do, just comment below, I'll see what I can do.

Anyways, picture above, I actually made this look when I reached into my class/lab, so I was bare-faced when I was going into the school compound, LOL! Anyways, it's a soft smokey blue look, but you can't really see the blue as it is soft. I was going to go for bare-faced the whole day but my skin decided to not be ready for the whole thing.

A my face but better look? I made an effort to make a natural no-makeup makeup look here but I think I wasn't bothered to be all soft smokey-ed. So I just used one eyeshadow.

Believe it or not, I wear makeup in school and most of my schoolmates never really notice it until they see me bare-faced. So anyways, a question for all you Bruneians who wears clear contact lenses. Can you tell me what brand you're using? And where do you buy it, locally? I love this brand that I simply can't live without, UNFORTUNATELY, I have to go to a neighboring country to actually buy these cheapo but VERY COMFORTABLE clear contact lenses. Color contact lenses are not an option because I don't want to pull much more attention to myself.

Make-up Review: Catrice Liquid Eye Liner Pen in Black Green

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Another venture into a pen-type liquid liner, I wasn’t planning to actually buy any liners from Catrice, but it was cheap and it was green, I never encountered a green liquid eyeliner, I am for a fact searching for a green gel eyeliner or a pink one (which I will buy from Holika Holika, LOL!) There’s also a blue liquid eyeliner, I’m not really interested in blue, I think I’m on a “sick of blue” phase.

Getting on the review, I love that this colour is for a fact, GREEN! The packaging isn’t so flimsy, the felt-tip isn’t so flimsy, they do bend but it doesn’t bother the way you apply it, you can still get a flick to make a perfect cat-eye line (one I can never seem to master).

At first, I was a little disappointed because it was just black when I swatched it on my hand AFTER I bought it, because there wasn’t any testers, so I had to blindly purchase it. But after using it a few times, or mad swatches on my hand, the green starts to show up. It doesn’t smudge or budge even after extensive rubbing, but it’s non-waterproof, though with that property, it seems to stain my skin a little bit, so I do have to wash a little bit more thoroughly.

It’s like a forest-green green and it’s such a nice colour, though I’d wish it’s more pigmented because when going about, no one is going to notice your green eyeliner unless they look at it closely, but so far, it does make my brown eyes more “popping” LOL!

A repurchase? Maybe

Make-up Review : Catrice Liquid Lip Tint in Are You Red-y

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I’m back with a review of my first ever Catrice product! I’m late to the party as most of my beauty blogger friends have already tried out a few Catrice products. But no worries, this one of the many reviews to come! *insert evil laugh here*

So anyways, I’ve actually come to like to use a photo collage to do my reviews, so expect a few of this later on! LOL :p

Anyways, I was looking around the Catrice stand and yes, I’m a big fan of lip tints as I find them easier to use than lipsticks and they last longer. I never tried any Western lip tints as all of mine are from Korean brands such as Tonymoly, Holika Holika and Missha. I might try out tints from Etude House as they actually have purple lip tint.

This lip tint is actually somewhat weird than any other Korean-branded tints I’ve tried, it has a watery sticky texture that when applied, might take a long time to set on your lip unless you sheer it out. I love the color on me, it’s almost like a bright berry red on me. I even wore it to school as I just love to wear a bright lip color on me while having a very toned-down eye look.

One other thing is that, I really love how it tasted, it’s sweet and I have to add a slick of lipgloss so I could stop myself from licking it. So this actually prolongs the wearing time of this tint, or else, by at least 2 hours the tint will fade.

Though I like this tint, I would never repurchase this again, but I do like to buy the other color which is a bright orange-y red.

Make-up Review : Cyber Colors BB Cream in Royal Caviar

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Another review from Cyber Colors and this time it's the Royal Caviar version. I pretty much hardly know any difference between the BB Creams except for their long-lasting properties as this BB Cream is more moisturizing than the Peony Deep Moist. So it really gets me shiny after just a few hours.

What I like about these Cyber Colors BB Cream is that they are easy to blend and I found that this BB Cream is much darker than the other two, so I didn't need to mix a large amount of my darker foundation to create a perfect match for my skin.

As per the other BB Cream, this actually also gives me an illusion of a flawless skin, it does give quite a glow since this is very moisturizing, but definitely the less favorite of all three. One other thing is that, this has a very pungent smell to it, it's not nice but as you applied it the smell does subside.

Sample Review : The Faceshop's Hydro Splash BB Cream

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

A sample review from The Faceshop's BB Cream sample. I was a little worried to try this out as Hydro Splash means that it might be moisturizing or a little too moisturizing, but I decided to go ahead and wear this out after a few weeks that this sample has been in my stash.

I am very surprised that the sample is very generous as I've actually managed to use up about 8 applications from this. At first I was glad that the color of this BB Cream is very dark, I might finally found a BB Cream that suits my skintone, but too bad, the color is actually lighter than light as I proceed to blend this into my skin, which blends nicely.

It settles into my skin nicely with a light to medium coverage, it also reduces the appearance of my pores and fine line. Which is actually a big bonus. Would I ever buy the full-size version? Maybe, as much as this BB Cream impresses me, it doesn't give me a very good impression that I would run out to buy this and I do have a lot more BB Creams to go through.

Make-up Review : Cyber Colors BB Cream in Peony Deep Moist

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

The review on this BB Cream should have been done long time ago, but never got around to do it. I bought this when I was in Miri, at Sasa's outlet at Parkson Mall, I bought it in a sample set of three 10ml BB Cream, for RM30+ I guess it's very affordable for 3 samples as Skin79's BB Cream 8ml sample alone can cost around B$8.

This one is in Peony Deep Moist, I never actually see these in their full-size version in Sasa or I wasn't looking at the stands carefully, but nevermind, I'd go there again and check the next time I'm there for a visit. Cyber Colors are actually from Korea but I hardly see a lot of reviews about their BB Creams.

Anyways, like any Asian BB Creams, they will NEVER EVER suit my skintone, but these actually have light to medium coverage, I'm never fussy about the coverage, never really need a foundation/BB Cream with full coverage as long as the coverage fades the obvious appearance of my dark acne scars.

It does give me a white cast as most BB Cream does, but that can be solved by mixing it with a darker foundation. Although I noticed that this BB Cream actually gives an illusion of a flawless skin even though my acne scars are peeking through, I think it has some sort of illuminating properties for giving this flawless illusions.

This last me well up to 4-5 hours before it gets shiny on my nose, so retouching is needed. I'm pretty impressed with this BB Cream.

A repurchase? Maybe if I can actually find the full size of this product.

Skincare Review : Baviphat Indi Girl Tea Tree Catch Oil

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I've had this long in my draft unattended, so while I'm busy doing my assignments and I'm having my off day today, so I might as well just update this and review this oil for you ladies.

So my skin is very prone to acne, and when I say acne, it's not those barely there spots, it's definitely those acnes where you can pop it to excrete those yellow icky pus. And I'm one of those gals who likes to pop pimples, LOL! So basically I'm not helping my skin at all, letting them be inflamed and produces those dark scars along the way. I'm currently on a skincare routine that helps eliminate these acne scars, so far so good.

Back to this oil, I've been trying to find tea tree oil in Brunei, let's face it, it wasn't easy, although I know there's a Tea Tree Oil product at Bodyshop but I somehow never bought anything from there, except to repurchase my favorite EDP there.

The Baviphat Tea Tree Oil was on offer, I can't remember the price but it was less than $5 where as the usual price was around the $15 mark, so it was a very nice bargain at that time. It contains about 20ml worth of product, it smells like tea tree oil, I pretty much prefer them to have a dropper as it is easier than this, but this stops from spilling any wastage, so all is not lost.

I don't need to swatch it as it is just basically oil. When apply to my blemishes, it has this cooling effect, but if I do have an open wound, it would sting as how spirits does to any wounds, so I assume that they do contain some kind of alcohol at some point.

The effect they have on pimples can be seen in a matter of 2 days, it's nice but I don't think I'll be repurchasing this as I really need something that can instantly deflate any pimples so I can actually stop myself from popping it on my free time.

Skincare Review : Nexcare Acne Patch

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Today is my birthday and I've reached 22! Not a big milestone for me, celebration was at the minimum, as I had 2 tests to study and 2 tutorials to finish up on that day. So, it wasn't a big deal for me and I actually, for a moment, forgot about my birthday. LOL!

I will try to remember and add in my a few pictures of my tiny birthday celebration later on. Now, we're going to review this baby. I think I've delayed the review for this particular product for more than a year already, talking about procrastinating, huh?

I've used this a lot of times and believe me when I say I purchased this more than 10 times already and that's how much I love it and how effective it is for my acne-prone skin.

Basically it's just stickers with two sizes and what it basically does is that it absorbs those white disgusting pus that comes from pimples and I usually do this to my bigger zits as to my smaller zits that could be called as spots can be removed by exfoliating.

Technically, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, it really depends on how big is your pore is at the current pimple spots. Sometimes it doesn't really work on my forehead as I can safely assume that my pores on my T-Zone isn't that big as this is more effective absorbing the pus and thus reducing the pimple size around my cheek areas. Although if I popped JUST A LITTLE BIT of my pimples on my forehead and put this onto it, it really is effective and by the next morning, the swelling will reduce itself.

It takes about literally a day and a half to actually really get rid of pimples. What I like about this acne stickers is that it creates a nice barrier so you won't be tempted to disturb your acne spots.

I've already repurchased this and I'm planning to buy the ones that has less than 15 pieces to be put into my first-aid mini bag.

Make-up Review : Holika Holika Silky Veil Primer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Finally, I've actually get my bum off of procrastinating and actually reviewing my holy grail primer! Well, that would be an overstatement, because I can't really afford to pay for this as my college budget, I think I will keep on looking for something better than this within my budget.

I've heard good reviews about Catrice's primer, so I might just purchase that as they are the budget-friendly cosmetic.

So anyways, this silicone gel primer, I'm not sure why it differs to some of my silicone gel primer, but somehow this is the best one I've encountered. I think Revlon's primer, although it's good, but it doesn't have  the performance that this does with my skin.

As per what silicone primer does, it minimizes your pore's visibility, giving a good smooth canvas for more makeup, although a con is that it doesn't even out your skintone but it does last a long time. This easily keeps my makeup fresh for 12 hours before it fades nicely.

So a really good primer in my point of view.

Do tell me what you use to prime your face before make-up

Make-up Review : Sariayu Foundation in Kuning Langsat

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm here with a budget brand from Sariayu, it's an Indonesian makeup brand, I've had this before a few years back, I love the scent and I love the finish on me, so I decided to repurchase it again and with the price B$2.50, it's hardly breaking the bank either.

I bought one in Kuning Langsat, I don't know what's Langsat in English but basically this foundation is actually a very yellow-tone foundation, I've actually forgotten how this foundation actually performed so when I bought this, I was afraid that it might be a little too light for me. But I'm afraid if I buy the Sawo Matang version, it would be a little too dark for me.

As you can see from the swatch, there's not much beige tone in it, it's very yellow all the way. I never really actually know what's my skintone is whether it's yellow-toned, neutral-toned or pink-toned. But I think I'm more of a neutral tone kinda gal, but who knows. LOL.

See, it seemed too light even on my hand as I'm trying to blend it out, it has a watery texture, also a cooling effect and it really blends easily with your fingers, so I hardly use a brush with this.

Well what do you know, it actually blends well with my hand even if my hand is darker than my face. I think this would actually match well with people with neutral-toned skins, not sure of yellow-tones though, but this foundation gives me a brighter and more awake look. It has a sheer coverage, which I don't really mind as although I have a lot of blemishes, I decided that for everyday use, I'd usually wear my concealers on my undereyes only, hardly ever on my blemishes except for when I have special occasions. I'm getting lazier, lol.

But anyways, I really love this foundation but this is great for dry to normal skin as I have oily skin, it only last around 3-4 hours on my T-Zone. So, I'm basically using this for quick errands.

Skincare Review : Fair & Lovely Advanced Multivitamin Face Cream

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I've been battling and trying to diminish whatever lefts from my acne scars after months of breaking out and popping them out and yes, not advisable to do that but I just can't manage to stop myself. So I've been sticking to a routine that would be able to help and reduce the visibility of my acne scars, so far it has worked slowly but then, I'm thinking of buying this certain product which I will post on my Want-it Wishlist after I've finished up this cream.

This is actually an affordable budget brand that many Bruneians are familiar with but I never really see any reviews on any of its products. There was a few variants of the whitening/brightening cream, but my friend recommended this one as it works for her and she's someone who knows about beauty skincare products, so all her opinions are always being taken in consideration.

A squeeze tube with a nozzle which I found very practical as I want to savor this product so I can actually see any improvement on my skin.

It's fairly a white but white a pink tinge cream, and it does give a brightened look to your skin as you applied it, also it might be a little drying. At first, I'd usually use moisturizer and then apply this cream after, but I found it to be too heavy for my skin so I decided to actually mix it with my moisturizer. It works well as I don't have to layer it up.

It is also very mattifying, though I never really thought about the oil control so I won't go there. About this cream, it claims to be a solution expert for scarring, uneven skintone, dull skin, dark circle and face brightening.

Whenever I use my Clariderm (review coming up) there would be a lot of redness, especially around my acne scars, I'm sorry for not providing pictures as I can't seem to access my laptop's camera. So, after a while of using this, I can see that it reduces the redness around my acne scars and also helped reduce the visibility of my acne scars.

When I was on a holiday at Rizqun Hotel, I went swimming and of course wearing a hijab while swimming, so I got a tan around my face that are exposed. A tan usually resides after a few months, but as I'm using this, I see that there's no more tan line and also my face has actually brighten and I think my skintone is a little lighter now as I found that I've been using less amount of darker foundation mixed with my BB Cream and I finally matched-shade with my Essence Pure Skin moisturizer and the shade I have is for fair skins.

I'd definitely repurchase this to even out my skintone and help fade out my tans if I do ever get tanned.

What's your product to help you to fade blemishes and acne scars?

Skincare Review : Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

So, I think I can find some time to update my blog today and I'll be reviewing my current savior for my on and off dry/scaly skin. The condition is always set off when I'm using my Clariderm, which you will find a review in just a few weeks as I'm still in a trial session.

Ever since I used Clariderm, my combination/oily skin has been drying up creating scaly skins and I've expected it to do that, because the Clariderm is a very strong peeling astringent, but I won't be explaining why I'm still using it, I will explain that in a separate post.

I bought this while I was in a trip in Miri, I've been hearing good stuff about Simple products so I've taken a stab on purchasing the Light moisturizer because I'm not sure if I want heavy moisturizer as I am a noob in skincare stuff, so I play it safe with this.

It's unscented, which just doesn't feel right with me as I don't really mind perfumed skincare, but well, I don't mind about it though.

The texture is very lightweight and I like the feeling of applying it on my face, it really feels refreshing and as if my skin was drinking up this moisturizer, almost like this is a thirst-quenching drink for my skin. It seems funny that I put it that way, but yeah, this is as close as I can to explain it. It really help moisturize my skin and my skin has less dry/scaly patches ever since I used this right after purchasing this.

Will I repurchase? Yes.

What's your favorite moisturizer?

In My Bag : Makeup Bag for Empire Hotel.

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

There was a flood in my house and it actually crashes my laptop, can you believe that I live on top of a hill, but it still can get flooded? I blame my older brother for this as he forgets to turm off the faucet after shower, but who actually does that?

I'm seriously surprised that this kind of thing happens. But thankfully I was able to fix my laptop in such a small amount of time, my harddisk drive is now condemned, along with those pictures and stuffs that I haven't had the time to make back-up files. I'm currently trying to recover everything from my harddisk drive, so I won't be able to maintain this blog for another week.

But can you believe that, if I were to send my laptop for recovering, maintenance and fixing, it might cost me around $200 or even more. But I've been pooling out my resources, enrolling on a computing course does help me to find people to fix my laptop in ease and for free. Also, since I have to replace my harddisk drive, I just use an external drive that's lying around in the house, not in use by any of my family members and open it up and replace it with my condemned harddisk drive.

Now that we've straighten that out, here's my post.

So anyways, this is just a small makeup collection I brought for the stay at Empire Hotel, not much as I know we'd actually going to stay there for a day. LOL.

It's very simple, here's what I brought with me:
  • Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream
  • Essence Stylist Eyebrow Set
  • Etude House Fantastic Gradation Eyeshadow Palette
  • Missha Signature Lipstick Palette
  • The Faceshop's Lip Palette
  • Essence Longlasting Eyeliner
  • IN2IT Retractable Black Eyeliner
  • Essence Multi-action Mascara
  • Bundle Monster Foundation Brush
  • Maybelline's Liquid Concealer
  • Holika Holika Holy Berry Tint
  • Silkygirl's Gloss On Lipstick

Saw it a few days ago when I was going to have my regular doses of Each-A-Cup, then I realize there was a new stand beside Essence's stand, I was pretty much hyped up when I saw this! I'd definitely be looking for Catrice soon.

So now, I'm going to actually check the website and set a few items that I would want to try, hopefully the ones I have my eyes on would be available in Paloma, CIAO!

Drama Review : Dae Janggeum

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

So today, I'm starting the post a little differently by reviewing a drama, I know I'm not a good critic for dramas and movies, but I love to show my opinions about it and also to tell you what I like or dislike in these kind of things, I'm a big fan of Korean dramas especially historical dramas.

Sypnosis:

"About 500 years ago during the time of Chosun Dynasty, Korea boasted a rigidly hierarchical and male dominated social structure. Set in this period, "Jewel in the Palace" is based on a true story about a legendary girl (Jang Geum) who became the first woman to be the supreme royal physician of her times. Despite her poor condition as a low class girl in the male dominated society, Jang Geum overcame a series of social discrimination and landed herself as a royal cook, later becoming the royal physician, then ultimately the physician in charge of the king. She was even given by the king the title "The Great Jang Geum." The story of her checkered life on her success and breakdown as well as her love story beautifully unfold. "Jewel in the Palace" is sure to touch your heart"

My Opinion:

I've seen this drama before when I was an adolescent, at that time, I wasn't interested in this drama but I did follow up a few of the episodes. After a few years, when I remembered about this movie, I tried to find it as I do want to find out the ending and better yet, I want to see it from the beginning, I tried to download it from torrent as I am no big fan of direct downloading, as Brunei is more notoriously known for having a very slow internet speed.

So I didn't really manage to find the torrent, but then my friend who has a business in finding this kind of thing, has Dae Janggeum! What else can I do except to take it from him, of course with permission! LOL.

So anyways, for each episode, you have an hour and a few minutes worth of episodes and this drama has a total of 54 episode, so there's around 60-70 hours spent to watch. LOL. But all in all, this is a drama that is worth watching, it's very interesting finding out about their culture in the past, also the lifestyle.

I find the actors are very good in what they're doing as they are able to make the audience create emotions of whatever scene they make, the villains, I found to be very hateful, very annoying that it felt like I want to slap the villain's face a few time.

Although, I find the heroin is very soft-spoken, I wish my voice is like that, but no, I have a harsh voice, though many people said that I have an angelic soft-spoken voice but with a sharp tongue. LOL!

So anyways, the storyline is very flaw-less, there are a few of the storyline that doesn't really make sense, but overall I really enjoy watching this, I even go for a second round watching this drama.

Out of 5, I could give this 4.78.

A must watch!

Make-up Review : Maybelline Baby Lip Color Lip Balm in Pink Lolita

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies

This is my first tinted lip balm review from Maybelline, I really love Maybelline's lipbalm, it's one of those cult products I've ever loved, I've bought a few backups from their line of Baby Lips Lipbalm as I find them to be very moisturizing.

I don't know if this is available in Brunei, but in Miri this is available in Guardian and Watson.

They have the same packaging as their un-tinted lipbalm range, although this is a tinted lipbalm, when applied to your bare lips, it won't transfer a lot of pigmentation, but then, I have a very pigmented lips. But I realized that if I apply lip stain on my lips before the lipbalm, it would amplify the color of the lip stain. It's weird though, when I wore a pink lip stain with this, the color goes more towards coral. If I wear an orange lip stain, the color is pink. Weird.

I didn't bother to show you the swatch as it doesn't show any pigment on the back of my hand, as I do have a dark skin. Don't trust my FOTDs for looking fair, that's just the illusion of lightings. LOL.

So anyways, this is really a moisturizing lipbalm that really sinks into your lips and this does great for days I don't want to wear lipsticks, just lipstain and lipbalm.

In My Bag : First-Aid

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I must say, this is the first time my pictures are of good quality, too bad my room doesn't have any sunlight coming in, I was actually in the car waiting for my dad to finish up his business at a government building.

I seriously love the lighting, I think I'll be taking pictures and swatches when no one's home or when I'm out and about with good sunlight, LOL! So anyways, you've seen the first aid pouch from the last post of In My Bag edition, and as time goes, I've added a few stuffs in, including a toe cream for my pre-surgery and I'd still need to use it until in such time my toe is completely healed, FYI, I had an ingrown toenail and it has been going on for 4 months now, I'm not the type to be all scared and worried if I'm sick, heck, if I had a flu or something, I sometimes ignore it and get on with my everyday life and do what needs to be done instead of resting, which is not recommended for all of you if you're the resting type.

But I am the kind of girl who really doesn't have the time or the energy to even give in to my sicknesses, so I've always been active though I don't really have a strong stamina, lol! So anyways, that ingrown toenail, at first it was a silly excess nail that I forgot to clip and in turn, it grows and pierced my flesh secreting pus or "nanah" and it's been going on for a few months until it get serious that no one, not even me can touch that toe as it becomes sensitive.

Had a few appointment with a podiatry, and had a surgery to cut out the nail. The anesthetic shot hurts a lot! LOL, I found the surgery to be.. weirdly awesome, LOL! Because I felt numb and didn't even feel any pain from the surgery because of the anesthetic and it felt like the doctor was actually cutting up some sort of rubber on my toe. And they gave me the cut up toe nail, that I won't be showing here, as it is disgusting. But I found out that the reason it hurt for a long time is because the side of the nails have curved inward thus causing acute pains.

So that went out and slightly curved from the purpose of this post, lol, anyways, I've always have a few bandages inside the pouch, as an accident-prone person, this comes in handy. Nail clipper, as sometimes there would be a time that I'd felt "dirty" and wanted to clip my nails, so yeah, it's a must for me. Also the toe cream which I rarely used and didn't listen to the doctor's prescription. And the aromatherapy oil, that I've bought a few weeks ago, it is very useful for sore throats, headaches and nose blockage, I even used this when I had an acute gastric pain, although it wasn't meant for gastric pains at least it help me to go through the pain. Eyemo eye drops, a basic necessity for all contact lens users.

Next in the beauty department is the tinted lip balm from Maybelline, which I dearly love so much! I try to take up a review on this soon! Also Missha's hand cream, it didn't quite fit into the pouch so I decided to transfer the whole tube into a smaller plastic bottle, which is squeeze-able, and then Miss Natasha perfume oil, it has been in my collection for sometime now, I don't really love the smell, because it has a high intense sickly sweet smell, but when used accordingly will smell nicely. Then a travel perfume bottle, I poured my favorite scent into it, which is the Victoria's Secret Body Mist in Mango Temptation.

I hope you like my post, so comment below if you'd like me to make another post of my updated make-up bag or a travelling make-up bag, thanks for reading!
