Want-it Wishlist : Benefit Cosmetics

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

On to another wishlist is something that I never ever thought about wanting which is the Benefit Cosmetics. We all know Benefit products are typically expensive for a person with a college budget, but I'd love to splurge on one of these sets, just to try out a few of their products at once.
First up, the Confession of a Concealaholic Kit, someone who are more prone to blemishes would love the idea of this gift set. I'm not sure if I want this kit because I mainly want to just try the Erase Paste.

In this set, there's a foundation, the primer and the pressed powder. I believe Boi-ing is a sort of concealer? I might try the Medium or Dark as I'm interested in trying out the foundation. But I don't know if splurging my money towards this set would be very wise as there's just a big probability that I won't use the foundation if it doesn't match with my skin. Looking at the swatches online, Medium might be a little to light for me and the Dark might be a little too dark for me too, so I might try and buy the Dark version as if it's too dark, I can just mix it up with my BB Creams but then, the Boi-ing concealers might not match me, so I'm in a dilemma here.

Finding Mr Bright set, I love to try this out mainly it has 3 of the this that I wanted to try, High Beam highlighter, Posietint and Erase Paste, so I might take this and ditch the Concealaholic Kit because I won't have to worry about how I would remove any of the product out from the box.

Then the Sexy Little Stowaway, I think this is quite a great bargain as it has the mascara, Hoola bronzer and the Bella Bamba blush. The two primers too! Also the four tubes, I think it's Stay, Don't Stray eye primer, Watt It Up highlighter, Sunbeam highlighter and Cha Cha Tint. Also lastly the Eye Cream that alot have been talking about.

I must say I won't be ready to buy a whole lot of this in full-size as I don't really have the luxury to buy and repurchase them if ever I liked them, but if ever I buy the Sexy Little Stowaway set, I'd be receiving a blusher and a bronzer, I don't think I'l be repurchasing those, cuz they are long-lasting and I'd prefer to try new ones than repurchasing blushes/bronzers over and over again.

Make-up Review : Baviphat Magic Girl Star Glam Highlighter

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm so lazy to these review posts these days as I've had a lot of things on my mind but then I just couldn't stay away and let my blog be post-less for a while unless I have good reasons for it, lol. So, I'm a newbie when it comes to highlighter, I don't think I'll be buying more highlighter as the one I've bought (that I'm going to review) would last me at least a lifetime before it goes bad. I've seen testers from Etude House, their liquid highlighters have gone bad.

I still think that Etude House's liquid highlighter, although they have the pink that I loved so much, is a little to overpriced and I won't buy something that could go bad easily for more than $20.

The Baviphat's liquid highlighter cost me around $7 I think, as it comes with a discount.

It reminds me of Benefit's liquid highlighter as I've seen from reviews it has a tiny bottle, although Etude House has a slightly large bottle.

As you can see, it has a nail polish-like packaging, glass bottle with a brush applicator. I don't really have any complains with the applicators as I only use it to dot on to my features that I'd like to highlight.

Ans as you can see, this is actually a gold highlighter with pink tones running through it, the glitters are fine and when blended it gives a lovely rosey-gold shimmer that doesn't goes overboard as it gives you a highlighted look that won't make you look like glitterballs.

I don't know how long it lasted but I think it lasted a good while for me, I first used this almost everyday but then I realized it's too heavy duty for me to wear it to school, so I only used it for special occasions although there's a time or two that I'd pop this over my browbone to give it a highlighted look.

Make-up Review : Garnier Instant Fairness BB Moisturizer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I had a lemming for  this BB Cream for a long time and it's very affordable for a BB Cream, even cheaper from Petit BB Cream range from Holika Holika. This particular BB Cream sets me back up to $9.90 only, I was regretful to buy this when the sale is not on, cuz it's much cheaper when it is on sale. Around $7?

It has only 20ml in a squeeze tube bottle, I don't really mind though at least it's hygienic even if it has a lesser amount than the usual BB Cream.

I'm not sure if there's other shades available here, but I have it on Medium, which seems to be a few shades lighter than my skin, but fret not, I usually mix all of my BB creams with the Essence's liquid foundation as it somehow turns around to two shade darker than my skintone? I seriously am in a dilemma of trying to find the right foundation for me, lol. I think I get tanned and whitened very easily.

As you can see here, the swatch is simply of a natural beige color, but although it seems like it's so blended into my skin real nicely, it still is too light for me, I guess the lighting is acting up on me.

But however, these days I've been using this up not because I loved it but only because it's a 20ml BB Cream and I want to finish it up. From what I've noticed, it does moisturize my face and also brightened up my face and it does lighten up my skin tone so this is actually the first BB Cream to ever done that to me.

What I can say about this BB Cream is that it's a real cheap BB Cream that does the job for you, it would last you about 4-5 hours before you need to blot or touch up. Although you need to get a good primer that can minimize your pore visibility because this won't help you in that department.

It doesn't really have a nice scent, it smelled like cheap artificial lemon smell to me but hey, it's a nice product so I don't really mind because the scent would actually go away after it sets. It's something that I won't repurchase but a lovely product to try :D

Make-up Review : Essence Gel Eyeliner in London Baby

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I have actually reviewed Essence Gel Eyeliner in Berlin Rocks and most of you might see reviews of these little diamonds up in the blogosphere and I know I've been posting up reviews about Essence products only because they have good quality products for the dime, they are undeniably cheap, a very affordable cosmetic range that is available in my country.

So anyways, this is in London Baby, most reviews I've seen has said that this is a brown gel liner, but I really beg to differ, as I can't really find any hints of brown in this gel liner.

Sure, this is not a true black, but I can't seem to find any browns in it.

The best way to explain this color, for me, is that this is a faded black with hints of taupe running through it. There's also hints of glitters in it that won't be really obvious when you apply it on your lash line.

And of course, the texture is very creamy and wet which I found very ideal to apply on my lash line.

A very outstanding gel liner for the price, as this one won't budge or smudge after it sets on your lash line, unlike Silkygirl's gel eyeliners though. It is waterproof, but I don't think it's water-resistant.

Make-up Routine : Highlighting my face

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

So I'm still a noob in my makeup skills, I suck at trying out a black smokey look, I don't even know how to contour my face, so my skills are currently improving in a slow pace. At first, I dislike the idea of highlighting as it somehow gives an idea that it would give you a much dewy look and I am the matte kind of person, I don't like my face to be too shimmery given the fact that I am of a combination-oily skin type.

However when I was given a sample of the Etude House Golden Ratio Face Glam highlighter, trying it out made a difference to my makeup routine. I can't believe the radiance that it gave me when wearing out the highlighter, so this has set me to use highlighters to make me feel and look radiant.

So the dots I've put strategically on my face is where I usually apply my highlighter, but out of all these dots, I usually am too lazy to highlight to my upper lip as I know I can easily get a vision of a fuller lips with just wearing lipglosses and I don't really feel I need to have a fuller-looking lips.

I didn't forget to take picture of the blended version, however my camera doesn't really picked up any of the radiance that the highlighting that I've made but you get the idea of how it might look like on me.

Make-up Review : Baviphat Sugar Girl All Skin Collagen Primer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

As I've stated before, I've bought this wonderfully discounted set for a half-price bargain. Out of those three, the blue tube is my least favorite but nevertheless a good product! As you can see, I can't really afford to buy and repurchase my Holy Grail primer which is the Holika Holika Silky Veil Primer, I've been looking for other cheap alternatives so I won't have to feel guilty finishing up my Holika Holika primer, I think I can make about 4-5 more applications before it is used up.

So with that clarified, of course I would be reviewing the primer from this set.

I really love the packaging, the have this retro feeling and from the whole range, I would say these are similar in terms of theme with theBalm's products.

It is sealed, so far so good.

This primer is basically a silicon-based primer, something that fares well with my skin as it is not only giving you a smooth surface for your makeup canvas, it does minimize the visibility of your pores, although the color is tinted but it pretty much blends into your skin with no tint left.

Also, I found the primer to keep my makeup longer than it would without it, it works almost as well as Holika Holika Silky Veil Primer with only a fraction of the price, I'm telling you, even in EBay, the Silky Veil Primer is still too expensive for me. But fortunately this primer is affordable for budget-conscious beauty.

This is definitely a repurchase for me! I'd definitely be exploring Baviphat's range of products as Paloma is actually selling them with a really affordable price.

Make-up Review : Essence My Skin Tinted Moisturizer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Sometimes, I hate Essence, even my friends calls me the Essence Ambasaddor and they have a lot of things catered to every women in Brunei. I was lusting for tinted moisturizers, I don't care what brand it'll be, but looking for a tinted moisturizer in Brunei is not an easy task as people in Brunei, mostly wants brightened complexion hence, more whitening and brightening product is being brought to Brunei instead of moisturization.

So this tinted moisturizer is from the My Skin range, so it doesn't help you with any of your skin problems except giving moisture and light coverage.

As you can see, I've bought the medium to dark skin, it is actually a perfect match to my skin. Seriously a great match, although I would love it if it's a little lighter, but still, this is a great color for my skin. I even created a make-up routine for this, a real no make-up makeup routine, LOL!

As far as coverage, almost the same as the Pure Skin Tinted Moisturizer, it does help cover up any LITTLE redness I have and also, it does give a little coverage, but I do have a lot of prominent acne scars so, I don't really have any high hopes for it or any bb cream or foundation to give me a full coverage. I even also use this to mix this with my BB Cream as this seems to be a lightweight product and doesn't feel so heavy on the skin.

Another thing about this moisturizer is that it smells delish! If you're the kind of girl who likes delicious scents so this might be for you as it screams peach pie in my case and if you like cooling sensation, you would love this too!

A repurchase? Well, I might repurchase this but I think it's better for me to buy the Pure Skin's Tinted Moisturizer version of this tone killing two birds with one stone, I'd say.
