Make-up Review : Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Another review for you, this time, it is for an item that I've loved so much and I seem to keep on losing some of my lip products because I can't seem to find them when I want to use them. Oh well, changing bags have its risks. LOL!

Thankfully, I manage to take note what this baby can do because for every time I make a review, I have to have the product itself near me while I'm typing out the review. So here goes:

I really love the fact that it is a crayon-like but retractable lipbalm stain, the color is actually very bright pink fuchsia and I think this was the step that I needed to embrace more bright and bold lip colors. It stains up to 8 hours unless you've eaten then it will fade nicely. I don't think this lip product to be moisturizing but I usually apply my HG lipbalm beneath every lipstick/stain/gloss I wear.

The smell actually reminds me of this baby hot oil that Bruneian likes to use, some people think of it as a minty scent. Nevertheless, I think I love this for the fact that it stands out more than the rest of the lip products I have, it simply is an amazing product to use as the color is also beautiful. I'd definitely buy this with a more toned-down neutral color, I need to stop buying more and more red lipsticks. LOL!

Make-up Review: Revlon Photoready Foundation in Medium Biege

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

A foundation review! I hardly buy foundation just because I think I have a lot of BB Creams and only just 4-5 foundation, I think. Well, now that I think of it, 4-5 foundations is a lot by any of the non-beauty blogger standard. LOL!

I bought the Photoready foundation after seeing a lot of reviews, well technically I was looking for the Colorstay foundation but there was none in Brunei, I checked most Guardians by the way to look for Colorstay foundations instead I found this.

It has a low SPF which contributes to the name Photoready I guess. Higher SPF equals to higher white exposure to your face, so I usually don't really like to use this during the day because of the lower SPF. I'd usually don this when I have anything going on at night.

I really love this foundation for the fact that it really fits my skintone perfectly and brightens up my skin since my skin, in nature, is quite dull. It has a medium coverage that does not require me to use concealers. If I think the coverage is not up to what I expect, I'd usually put on another layer on the parts that needs covering.

The staying skill is quite impressive too, it usually fades around the 8th hour mark. I'd usually wear this out on night occasions or days I'm bothered to use foundations to school. I think I found a foundation worth repurchasing.

Beauty Bought : My first trip to KL

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I had a surprise getaway with my family to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for just a few days at the end of May. I think I went crazy with spending all my money on the trip. I had fun, I will post up a more detailed blogpost on my next post.

Anyways, I've actually missed out a few things on my haul post, where I've actually bought a few blouses, maxi skirts, hijabs and a messenger bag. I'm not sure if my readers are particularly interested in what my fashion sense is, I could tell you now that it's very simple.

While I was in KL, I stayed at Cititel Hotel at Midvalley, the Midvalley Mall itself is very busy mall, I can tell you now that I've actually haven't gone through the mall thoroughly, everytime I went down to the mall, I will still end up be surprised of finding a few stores that I'd like to explore.

I am currently on a quest to find the perfect nail polish for me to wear when I'm on my "holidays", I was so happy to see SASA, Inglot, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Shu Eumera(sp?), Clinique! It was makeup heaven, I tell you!

I've also encountered Daiso, I know Daiso is somewhat a cheap store, I didn't expect all the stuff in the store to be RM5 each! I've made quite a few nasty purchases. I bought those pink pliers and I don't even know what to use it for! LOL! But I guess it would come in handy in the future. I also made a few purchase on the makeups there but I wasn't sure about the quality, so I didn't buy a lot, I wanted to buy some for a swap that I'm currently collecting for, but I was afraid of the quality of the product would do me no good.

I've also bought a cheap Android tablet somewhere in the Lowyat area for the purpose of developing our Android app for our Final Year Project and bought two books at MPH Bookstore that would help me, InshaAllah to get through the project. I think I'd make a review on the Android tablet itself!

In terms of makeup, I was glad that I didn't do much damage, I bought a palette from Elianto on which I will review it soon! I might make a few FOTDs out of it. I also purchased a foundation from Rimmel and I think I regret buying it because it is 3 shades darker and it is quite on the warm side. But anyways, reviews will be up soon.

I also went to Sephora but I just bought a few NYX stuff as when I went to the Benefit's stand, I was unimpressed with all their stuffs there. And the fact that they are very expensive that I didn't go for their products, maybe next time!

FOTD : It was just another wedding reception

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Another FOTD and an inclusive ROTD (Ring of The Day), I won't be posting a lot of ROTD because I hardly have an extensive collection. So I might just use my next few pays to actually invest in some of these finger candies.

Went to a wedding reception of my cousin's cousin, I went there with my brother and little sister. I'm sorry about the picture below, it's only after the reception that I decided to take pictures, LOL!

But it was okay, my nose is a little bit shiny but that's normal for me. Sorry for my bleeding lips, it's not in its best condition currently.

Make-up Routine : Foundation and Concealer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

So today we're going to do things differently and you actually have the privilege of seeing me with a naked-stark bare face as I give you girls a routine on how I apply my foundation and concealers.

This is pretty much the normal stuff that I do every day.

1. Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream
2. Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer
3. Revlon's Color-Correcting Primer
4. Maybelline's Angelfit Liquid Concealer in Natural Beige
5. Essence's 16 Hour Stay All Day Foundation in 30 Matt Sand
6. Silkygirl's Powder Foundation in Tan

So first, I'd apply a good amount of primer on my face. Yeay for my bare face!

Next step: Foundation

\

As the Essence foundation is two shades darker and the Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream have a light coverage and is two shade lighter, I just mix them up to compliment my skintone.

The Essence foundation is good for when you want a good coverage but with no SPF, it is just useless, I basically add Essence foundation to all my BB Creams application so that the end result will compliment my skintone.

So I've mixed both and dab the product all over my face.

Then I'll just blend it with a foundation brush

OR...

With a Stippling blush, so you can see that acne scars on my left cheek is pretty much covered. I know it seems weird that the result is that, the mixed foundation is still a little on the light side, but believe me, it's a match, the lighting is just playing tricks with me.

Next Step : Applying Concealers

I have two concealers that I use currently, the liquid concealer and the dark circle concealer.

So what I do is, I apply the dark circle concealer all over my undereyes, blending it so you have a nice brightened look. Don't drag, just pat evenly.

And apply my liquid concealer over my acne scar to give more coverage.

It depends on my mood and also time, if I'm stalling my time, I'd dab and pat the concealer with a brush

OR..

If I'm running late, I would dab and pat using my fingers. Mind you, to create a good coverage, I usually pat the concealers so that it won't slide off to blend in with the foundation.

Lastly, I use my powder foundation as a setting powder. Don't worry about it, because this powder foundation does not give big impact on my face, it just sets my makeup nicely. And can you believe that I've hit pan? I love this to bits, I'd never ever buy other setting powders than this, well only because I have two backups for this powder, LOL, and it takes me almost for more than 6 months to hit pan, so it's pretty much long-lasting.

FINAL RESULT

LOL, it looks like I've worn blush and eyeliner, but then, I didn't. Other than the makeup above, I've only used a lipbalm to prepare for my next step of makeup routine.

My Make-up Collection : Make-up Bases (Face Primers and Eyeshadow Primers)

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

This just a collection of my face primers and eye primers. Not a lot, but enough to last me for more than 6 months? LOL.

Essence

A lovely make-up base from Essence, but not fond on it caking up my foundation around my nose area. But the eyeshadow base is purely awesome, a great base for my eyeshadows, gives more colors and also gives longevity to my MUA pen eyeliner.

Holika Holika

My holy grail primer, the Silky Veil Primer, I don't know when I'd be reviewing this up, because this is my second purchase and I'm running out of it! The HD Skinny Primer Base is pretty much a very great base for my makeup, but I still prefer my Silky Veil Primer :p

MUA Professional
The famous budget brand from UK, I love the face primer, but I don't think it can stand the equatorial climate, so I rather use this basically at night, when I might be lazy to mix up my foundation with my BB Cream. Though I love their eye primers.

Revlon

A new addition to my collection, primer from Revlon Photoready, I think this has the potential to replace my Silky Veil Primer, but I'll be watching out for other primers :D

Make-up Review : Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm on a hunt for a face primer, so I'd naturally would accidentally pick this up while I was on a hunt for my Garnier's BB Cream. I must say this is slightly cheaper than my favorite primer, Silky Veil Primer. Well, SLIGHTLY cheaper, so I guess I have to invest in expensive primers so that my makeup application lasts longer and also flawless.

Revlon comes in a glass jar with pump, I must say there are reviews that the pump would have to be broke down due to fact that it won't pump out more when you're running low.

Was hopping it was bigger in size, but then, oh well. This was an impulsive buy, I was like, heck I saw a review of a person who bought and repurchase this, so it must be good enough for me.

Just in case you're wondering, my pictures are a little bit better now because I'm currently borrowing my friend's DSLR camera.

It has a white-based creme gel-like texture, it applies clear, although not captured in the photo, it seems to brighten up your face, I don't know or maybe that's just me. When applied, you can see the primer actually minimizes your pores and gives you a silky smooth canvas to apply your next step in makeup.

But it seriously prolongs my makeup wear, after setting my makeup with powder, I won't have to feel the need to retouch it in 5-6 hours or so, it feels amazing that with this primer, I can just let my makeup be without worrying it to fade, crease or cake up my foundation.

Now, this is the fourth Revlon product I've bought, where all 3 of them before this primer are pretty much a disappointment. Now, I've finally can say that Revlon has not disappointed me with this primer and I just might repurchase it.

Make-up Review : Revlon Lipbutter in Strawberry Shortcake

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Another post about the Revlon's Lip Butter, I'm telling you, this is the last of these Lip Butters that I'll buy, as I found a much better competition than this. Just a simple and short review.

I liked this more than Brown Sugar as this is more of a satin finish, but however, it has a very obvious blue-tone that I might not be able to pull this off with a heavy swipe, only just a small enough swipe on your lips, but still, I love the color on me. It looks better when I have that dark-ish smokey look.

It's more expensive than it's competition therefore it stumps the lipbutter.

Make-up Review : Revlon Lip Butter in Brown Sugar

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I've joined in the Revlon Lipbutter's bandwagon a few weeks ago and purchasing this one, unfortunately, only about 8 of the colors are only released here and the ones that I've been lemming for isn't one of them. But I seriously would love to try out Creme Brulee or Peach Parfait.

I'll say that this glides softly, works a charm as a lipbalm + lipstick hybrid.

But one thing I hate, which I didn't carefully look at when I was swatching to buy this is that, it's too frosty to my liking, too many shimmers that the color seems so bronzy and metallic.

It somehow didn't pick up the metallic sheen that I've been hating, lol. But to salvage this lip butter, what I do is that I used a light pink lipstick underneath and applied the lip butter over so as to create a more subtle nude-ish look, but this look won't come everyday, lol.

My Make-up Collection : Eyeshadow Palettes

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

So, I guess I can show you my humble collection of eyeshadows, I haven't receive my MUA palettes yet. So, this is the current collection I have of my eyeshadows, I only have, what, 2 palettes, 4 quads and a duo eyeshadows. I'm trying to add up new collections but then, I hardly have the need to it, because these are the colors that I would use for everyday looks or special night out.

It's a very poor and humble collection of mine, I only have 1 product each from Etude House and Revlon and the rest is basically Silkygirl. I think they're the best drugstore brand ever, cheap and high-quality at the same time.

And I just love the Blockbuster Quad Palettes. I have Green Forest, Violet Crush and Bare Natural. As you can see, my Bare Natural is messed up because I use that more than my other palettes. Though I really love the Green Forest palette, cuz it gives a nice shadow to give my eye the brightness that it needs.

A little something that I've reviewed before. I liked to use the light pink with any of its dark counterpart to create a soft smokey effect.

I guess I'm a bit disappointed with Revlon's eyeshadow palette, because I found it to be chalky and not too pigmented.

This is the Silkygirl's Duo Eyeshadow in Blue Heaven, I got it for free. Hardly use this though.

A birthday present from my lovely friend, I love the neutral shimmery eyeshadow. Also, this is my go-to eyeshadows for a sleek and neutral make-up for nights' out. LOL.

So, there you have it, my collections of eyeshadow palettes, I'm trying to use these up before I head off to Malaysia to study there next year, though I know it won't be easy to finish up eyeshadows, but I'll surely will have to finish up my eye makeups, concealers, BB Creams and foundations so that I won't leave this house with any make-ups cuz I know the little sister would love to play with my make-ups. I guess I need a make-up shopping ban.
