Drama Review : Dae Janggeum

So today, I'm starting the post a little differently by reviewing a drama, I know I'm not a good critic for dramas and movies, but I love to show my opinions about it and also to tell you what I like or dislike in these kind of things, I'm a big fan of Korean dramas especially historical dramas.

Sypnosis:

"About 500 years ago during the time of Chosun Dynasty, Korea boasted a rigidly hierarchical and male dominated social structure. Set in this period, "Jewel in the Palace" is based on a true story about a legendary girl (Jang Geum) who became the first woman to be the supreme royal physician of her times. Despite her poor condition as a low class girl in the male dominated society, Jang Geum overcame a series of social discrimination and landed herself as a royal cook, later becoming the royal physician, then ultimately the physician in charge of the king. She was even given by the king the title "The Great Jang Geum." The story of her checkered life on her success and breakdown as well as her love story beautifully unfold. "Jewel in the Palace" is sure to touch your heart"

My Opinion:

I've seen this drama before when I was an adolescent, at that time, I wasn't interested in this drama but I did follow up a few of the episodes. After a few years, when I remembered about this movie, I tried to find it as I do want to find out the ending and better yet, I want to see it from the beginning, I tried to download it from torrent as I am no big fan of direct downloading, as Brunei is more notoriously known for having a very slow internet speed.

So I didn't really manage to find the torrent, but then my friend who has a business in finding this kind of thing, has Dae Janggeum! What else can I do except to take it from him, of course with permission! LOL. 

So anyways, for each episode, you have an hour and a few minutes worth of episodes and this drama has a total of 54 episode, so there's around 60-70 hours spent to watch. LOL. But all in all, this is a drama that is worth watching, it's very interesting finding out about their culture in the past, also the lifestyle.

I find the actors are very good in what they're doing as they are able to make the audience create emotions of whatever scene they make, the villains, I found to be very hateful, very annoying that it felt like I want to slap the villain's face a few time.

Although, I find the heroin is very soft-spoken, I wish my voice is like that, but no, I have a harsh voice, though many people said that I have an angelic soft-spoken voice but with a sharp tongue. LOL!

So anyways, the storyline is very flaw-less, there are a few of the storyline that doesn't really make sense, but overall I really enjoy watching this, I even go for a second round watching this drama. 

Out of 5, I could give this 4.78.

A must watch!

Drama Review : King 2 Hearts

I know it's weird that a beauty blog is reviewing a drama but don't worry, this will be a short one as I just don't think I'm a very good critic when it comes to dramas or movies.

I'm a big fan of Korean Dramas, just because Korean Entertainment is IN at the moment doesn't mean that I'm on a bandwagon to follow and love anything Korean-related. For starters, I don't like their cuisine as they consist mostly seafood, so bringing me to a Korean-cuisine restaurant isn't a good idea, but I do tolerate their Kimbaps.

And amongs all Korean dramas, they are almost the same as beauty cult products. For example, I could relate the drama "Secret Garden" to Revlon's Lip Butter. A lot says good things about it, swears by it, but when I watched this drama, it was to me, very disappointing, I couldn't find any climax watching this drama that have Han Ji Won and Hyun Bin as their main characters.

Anyways, this drama which is called "King 2 Hearts" is a drama that happens in a fictional world where South and North Korea seems to be in a good term with each other. So here's the plot for this drama:

"The King 2 Hearts is set in an alternate universe where modern-day South Korea is governed by a constitutional monarchy descended from the Joseon Dynasty. Lee Jae-ha is a handsome yet materialistic crown prince who doesn't care about politics and feels total reluctance to being the second in line to the throne. Lee Jae-kang, the current king, tricked him into joining a joint military collaboration with North Korea as a means to help "make him grow up".

Meanwhile, Kim Hang-ah is a North Korean Special Forces Officer who is also the daughter of a North Korean military high command official. Both Jae-ha and Hang-ah meet at the joint military training, a crucial part in establishing friendly relations between the two separate countries. Although the two met each other with a fiery disposition, Jae-ha unwittingly sparks a friendship with Hang-ah and he subsequently falls in love with her. Soon, an arranged marriage is set up between the two and they eventually become engaged. While they attempt to set their differences aside and build a growing relationship, things suddenly take a turn for the worse when King Jae-kang and his wife were assassinated in cold blood by the devious Club M, who are led by John Meyer/Kim Bong-gu, a mysterious magician who wishes to remove the Royal Family and rule in their stead. Now crowned the new King of South Korea, Jae-ha must learn to be responsible and protect the country before it is too late."

So, at first I didn't expect to really like this drama because the main characters aren't really my favorite which are Lee Seung Gi and Han Ji Won, lol. But then, the drama is right for them, it's a very good drama that I actually stayed up late for 3 days just so I could finish it.

What I can say is that the plot is very creative, although there's a few lame twist, especially the princess' love interest but then the storyline is so intense that there are a few times that I actually cried and sometimes the scenes are somewhat interesting and I felt like I want to punch the John Mayer character in the face. That's how intense the drama it is and I seriously am falling for Lee Seung Gi as he masks a character that seems so serious and intelligence unlike his character from when he was acting in "My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho".

I guess this is one of the best drama I've seen so I'm giving this a 4.5 stars.
