Make-up Review: The Faceshop Lesson 03 Artist Touch Lipstick in RD301

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I am sorry with the lack of updates, the WIFI at home is gone and I can't go online as much as I want so I hardly ever spend time online using my laptop, it is such a boring thing when you are on your holiday.

So, this is a review for a lipstick from The Faceshop a brand that I hardly explore, I haven't even try their BB Creams yet and I am looking forward to test it out, maybe as soon as I get a job!

I bought this especially for an occasion that is dear to mine, my bestfriend is engaged! I was happy and we were actually having a sleepover too, so we actually went to Mabohai complex to get the Royce chocolate hamper for one of the "berian" that my bestfriend ordered.

There was The Faceshop and the only red lip product I bought was the NYX Xtreme Lip Cream, which I currently dislike because of it transferring everywhere. I bought this because of the fact the consistency is between matte and creamy also this is RED! I don't have many red lip products as of now, so I do try to have something that goes well with everything.

This is a picture with me wearing the product, I love the true red it gives in this picture, I can actually use this sparingly to give a nice red that is wearable for everyday look. Although I hardly use red in my daily looks but when I do I usually use this lipstick to satisfy my red needs as it last long for about 3-4 hours before I need to reapply. Since its between matte and creamy it doesn't dry up on me.

Make-up Review : Catrice Ultimate Lipstick in 060 Oh Juicy!

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm sorry for not posting so consistently these past few weeks. I had to attend a Seminar about "Rumahku Syurgaku" (My Home, My Heaven), it's all about every aspect you need to know about marriage. It was an eye-opening seminar for me, I've actually never attended these types of seminars but I really love it.

I also made a surprise trip to KL, I wish I had more time to get ready for the trip or had more time on my trip to KL. I would love to see a few of the beauty bloggers from KL! But alas, I'll just have to wait on it up till next year I guess.

So anyways, I'm making a review on a lipstick from Catrice. I've always wanted to try lipsticks as I never really buy lipsticks more than I buy eyeshadows, and I do need to stop buying eyeshadows, LOL!

I really love the packaging of this lipstick, it doesn't seem to cost $5.90 because the packaging is somehow of high-quality material.

The color is a bright red-toned orange, it is a nice bright orange that can give your look a real nice pop of color, although the lipstick is creamy. It seems to apply unevenly on my lips as I have to apply a lipbalm underneath it and also to make the color stay, I wore a lipgloss over it.

Although a lovely color, it wasn't something that I want to buy more, I'd definitely try a different type of the Catrice lipsticks.

Make-up Review : Essence's Lipstick in All About Cupcakes

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I've been procrastinating in doing blog posts nowaday, I'm sorry! But I'm still enjoying my holidays right now though I'm actually just staying at home and watch Big Bang Theory all over again. I've actually been in love with Essence lipstick in All About Cupcake.

I bought this with an intention of just trying out since it seems so creamy and matte-looking unlike the rest of the colours where they have shimmers. So this is the only one I've made.

It is in a simple plastic packaging, looking very cheap but hey, Essence have proven that they have cheap packaging but has good quality.

I'm very torn in describing the colour of this lipstick as it is between a MLBB shade and a nude cool-toned bubblegum pink. I guess it is a MLBB shade when my lips are so pale but it is a nude bubblegum pink when my lips appeared to be darker.

The texture is very creamy with a sheen to it. It is also very moisturizing and it doesn't dry up your lips, it could last me to about 3-4 hours before I have to reapply, which is fine by me as with this lipstick, it's not such an annoying thing to reapply, because I love it so much! It also has a candy scent.

I wanted to buy more of the Essence lipsticks but I don't really like the shimmery texture. But I would buy more of these as soon as I have my makeup budget.

Product Empties : March 2013

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Looking at the picture below, it’s a lot of make-up to throw away. All items are expired or used up or just doesn’t work for me anymore. I was having a clear-out on my make-up and I did not realize that I have so many make-ups that I should’ve thrown out a long time ago. I did change up how I store my make-up and such. It’s more spacey now that I’ve rearranged it.

1.       Essence All Eyes On Me Mascara – This is a nice purple mascara that is not waterproof, it does a nice job of creating volume for my lashes but unfortunately, it has dried out already, I’ve purchased a new mascara already from Essence, but I haven’t touch that yet and won’t touch it until all my mascaras are used up.

2.       Sariayu Foundation and Silkygirl’s Lightening Foundation -  The Sariayu foundation, it’s very easy to finish it as it does a great job of blending and brighten my face easily for everyday or everytime I go out for errands and such. Not something I’d repurchase hurrily. The Silkygirl’s Foundation, I’ve given up on it, it doesn’t make a very good impression of the hundred times I use it. The smell, the longevity, yuck!

3.       Tonymoly’s Milky Lip Tint – A big favourite of mine, I’ve been using it a lot and I’ve finally come to terms that both have already run out :’( I won’t be repurchasing this anytime soon, I have lots more lip tints to finish up!

4.       Silkygirl’s Long-wearing Eyeliner, Funky Eyeliner and Glitter Liner – I don’t know why I never can get on with their eyeliners very well, although their liquid pen liner is the best one so far amongst their eyeliners. I’ve never tried out the funky eyeliner out because they have this stinky smell that I kept putting off on throwing out, the glitter liner was I think an old stock, and the texture isn’t something I’d like to try. The Long-wearing Crayon Eyeliner smudges like crazy and doesn’t even have a great pigmentation!

5.       Safi Balqis Lipstick and Etude House Roll Roll Lipgloss – The Balqis lipstick is a favourite of mine as it is a MLBB shade but unfortunately, it was being discontinued from a long time ago, so I’m so sad to see this one go. The Etude House Lipgloss, the colour is nude, I love to pair it with a red lip tint to make it a little coral-ish but then I’ve actually saw the product has separated and the smell was bad and it’s time to throw it away.

6.       L’Action Dark Circle Corrector and Essence’s Pure Skin Spot Treatment – The only skincares I’m throwing out, I actually have finished up a lot of skincare products but I couldn’t be bother to actually bring it back to my room from the toilet just so I could take pictures with it. The L’Action was A WASTE OF MONEY, it doesn’t work, the gel doesn’t even do anything and the concealer that came with it dries up before I could even test it out. The Essence’s Spot Treatment is one of the few duds I’ve come across from Essence, it dries out too, which is understandable because it has some sort of alcohol in it.
What’s the one product that you kept on using up and repurchase all the time?

Make-up Review : Hare Magic Lipstick

 Assalamualaikum pretty ladies

I would first of all would love to thank my friend from Little Red Viola for giving me two of these lipsticks. This lipstick is actually very famous in Brunei and maybe, even in Malaysia. It is a lipstick that older generations loved to use as it is "magic"

There's not much to see from the packaging, it is flimsy and tacky, but I don't really care much about the packaging because I know the performance of this lipstick is beyond some of the lipsticks in my collection.

As you can see, the lipstick is green in color, okay, I wouldn't call this a lipstick actually, more like a lipstick stain.

For the first few seconds, the swatch is very much sheer but then as time goes on, the swatch turns into this hot berry pink that actually really depends on your natural lip color. This lipstick really stains for a few hours, it can even reach 12 hours and the pigment on your lips is still strong and bright.

The color is so suited for everyday's use or even for a nice evening date as I never really thought to touch it up except touching up with a lip gloss.

It's moisturizing and there's a little glossy effect, this have been my favorite after I received this from my friend and I really love this to bits and I'd definitely repurchase if only I can finish it up, LOL

Favorites: January 2013

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

So I decided to do something new, I hardly ever make a favorite monthly post as I hardly rotate with my makeup mainly because I usually stick with the same old things that I used the past months. I still should post what I'm loving this month as now that my main mission for the past few weeks is to finish up my less favorite BB Creams which I'll be putting it on a new post.

This is what I've been reaching for during the month of January, although I was being snobby on my review for MUA's Undressed Palette, but I've now warmed up to it. I've been using Shade 5, a matte shadow which is slightly darker than my skintone, I sometimes use this to contour my nose and also use this as a lid wash. Also with Shade 8 and 10, they are my go-to defining shadows to create neutral smokey effect, but I'd pack on it if I were to go out at night and for shade 9, I like to use it for my crease to create a gradient effect.

For the Essence Multi Action False Lashes, I'd definitely repurchase this as it does give me voluminous and defined lashes, though not sure about lengthening, but I'm not picky with my mascaras, as long as it creates nice lashes for me then it should be fine.

I never thought that I could actually use Essence Gel Eyeliner in London, Baby on my waterline and it doesn't even budge, it was still pigmented at 8pm and I applied it around 6am? So, it became the eyeliner that I've reached for.

For Hare Magic Lipstick (review coming soon), it's been my go-to lipstick ever since I received this. This really rocks, an old-time favorite with the older generations. Also, I'm a big fan of BB Creams but I hate the fact that they're too light for me, so I bought Essence's Soft & Natural Make-up Long-lasting Foundation in Light Caramel which is a little too dark for me and I used this to mix with my BB Creams to match with my skintone.

Tell me what's your current favorite?

Sample Review : Laneige Glossy Lipstick

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I have been a very bad blogger! Happy 2013 everybody, I don't really have the mojo to write up the favorites of 2012 or even to sum up my 2012, but Alhamdulillah I am still alive to this day.

A friend gave me this lipstick sample and there's actually two of them, so I just put it onto one of my unused contact lens case and just depot it there.

So I received four different lipstick sample housed in this old-fashion candy packaging, those chocolate candies in the 90's, I hope to find it in shops cuz I'm feeling a little bit nostalgic. LOL.

It comes onto this little aluminium packaging, which is very inflexible and also a little too cheap for a brand like Laneige, even Missha houses their samples on a luxurious-looking palettes. Also, once opened, it won't be able to be close. Hence, depotted them onto a sterilized contact lens.

In the swatch, I've forgotten to actually put on a heavier swatch, sorry, but from right to left, Glam Nude, Secret Red, Delicious Pink and Plum Pink.

The colors are pigmented but I love the fact that the colors are a little sheer at the same time, as I never actually wore red a lot, so this is the stepping stone I need to wear a bright but sheer red to pass, cuz sometimes it's already on my mindset that red is for women in their 30s and 40s, lol.

But anyways, Laneige's lipstick is actually nice to use, they last for 2-3 hours only, so I made sure I wear a liptint/stain underneath because re-applying them is just bothersome, sometimes. LOL. But it is moisturizing and gives a glossy effect without the glitter, but I think I can make do this lipsticks with Silkygirl's Gloss lipsticks as they seemed to be similar.

Make-up Review : Holika Holika Enamel Lipstick in BR501

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

This is a lipstick from Holika Holika and I realized I never really gave reviews of lipsticks and mascaras, but I'm trying to do that now. I was a bit disappointed with myself that I bought this as I've actually found a Maybelline's lipstick that has almost the same shade, much cheaper and much more better in terms of performance.

I love the packaging though, it's very sturdy and very beautiful among my dull lipstick collection. I've been toying around with this lipstick as I'm still not sure whether I love it or hate it. But the packaging's theme is similar to some of the products, especially my Primer Base, translucent purple plastic with gold. Overall, not a bad packaging too.

The downside is that if you're collecting these, you won't know which one is which, unless you remember the codes, you'd have to open each one to find the shades you want.

The one I picked up is a nude peachy pink, I think the color suits me for those smokey looks, I always pair this with several coats of red tint, so I'd be able to use this daily without looking so dead, not that the lipstick isn't so flattering, but wearing it with a natural look, it would make me look like I'm sick.

The texture is somewhat creamy but on a dry side. At first few applications, it went well with me, but after that, I have problems with it being so glittery, the lipstick is rough to wear as there are glitter grits. The glitters aren't so noticeable, but sometimes if you're not being careful, don't use your fingers to apply this on your lips as the glitter would transfer everywhere.

I was regretful as at that time I wanted a matte lipstick and this is actually a matte lipstick, but I dislike the gritty glitters ans it really does seeps onto your lip line, so apply lipbalm before the lipstick. I wished I bought the creamy line as it would've been much more bearable than this.

Make-up Review : Silkygirl's Gloss On Lip Color in Sweet Blush

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I like to procrastinate and always love to postpone posting things of what I really want to post here, a habit that I would never ever change! LOL. I know I always update my blog on every alternative days, thanks to scheduled posts.

Also, there's this thing of people loving Revlon Lipbutters as their go-to lipstick-lipbalm hybrid, but I've bought two lip butters (i.e Brown Sugar and Strawberry Shortcake) and I don't really love the color choices as one is too frosty and the other is too cool-toned for me to make it wearable, ALTHOUGH, I did make things workout between us which I will post in my Product Spotlight section, later next month or when I remembered, LOL!

Silkygirl is a cosmetic brand that is only available in mainly Malay-Asia region (i.e Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei) I'm not so sure if this is available in Phillipine because I've never encountered any reviews of this particular brands on Filipinos beauty bloggers.

This is their Gloss On Lip Color lipstick range, they, unfortunately, have very limited colors available for this range, which is very DISAPPOINTING cuz I've been loving them, not only they are cheaper, if you were to catch them on sale in Guardian, they usually have a Buy 1 Free 1 promotion, so a great bargain if you don't to spend too much money in Silkygirl's products.

Anyways, onto the review, this lipstick is basically a lipstick + lipgloss + lipbalm hybrid, I'm not sure of the lipgloss part cuz it doesn't "gloss" lika a normal lipgloss would do. It is much nicer from their usual lipsticks, I prefer these than the lip butters, I currently have 2 colors and planning to get them when they have Buy 1 Free 1 promotions.

It has sheer pigmentation, but very buildable to give an opaque, glossy finish. What I like about these lipsticks are that, even though they are glossy, they don't have those shimmery particles that I really dislike that can go over frosty.

With this color, it does give me a MLBB shade with a hint of melon pink, it does have shimmer particles but it doesn't overwhelm you like other lipsticks can be *cough*LipButterBrownSugar*cough*

Also, this is what I love about these lipsticks, they are very moisturizing! Once I was staying at my uncle's house and I didn't even bring my lipbalms with me! =/ but this lipstick saved my day, as it is a MLBB shade for me, I was able to use this at my uncle's house without feeling so made up and it keeps your lips soft.

The staying power might not be so awesome, but it doesn't bother me, cuz this product is awesome!

Make-up Review : Avon Simply Pretty Lipsticks

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

This is a present given by my Biring (a Brunei name for Aunt). it's Avon's Simply Pretty Lipsticks.

My Biring bought me Color Bliss Sparkle Lipstick in Dazzling Rose and Colo Last Lipstick in Lucky Orange.

As you can see from the swatch, Dazzling Rose came off as a frosty pink with blue undertone, it's sheer but buildable. It's not that creamy, though the color is a fantastic nude pink color, it settles on lines. It accentuates dry lips.

For Lucky Orange, it's a pink-coral lipstick. This color is a very love-hate color. Although creamy when applied, it still has this tendency to accentuate dry lips and settling on lines. I can simply say that Avon's lipsticks are a bit of a let down, especially on the Simply Pretty line, because not only the quality isn't the best of all, it stings my lips. I don't know if it were supposed to plump your lips, but I have had a Simply Pretty lipstick before, of which I've thrown out, it does the same stinging sensation too. It's not a good stinging, it can gravitate to being itchy.

Sorry for the pimple! LOL. However, I seriously love these colors, it's the colors that I've been trying to find in lipsticks. It's very disappointing that they have those itchy and stinging sensation.

Make-up Review : Holika Holika Holy Berry Tint

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm a big fan of lip tints, though I haven't have a big collection of them, but I'm definitely going to grow out a collection out of them. So I won't have to think about whether I should buy a lipstick or not!

So I decided to buy a lip tint from Holika Holika, it has a very cheap price tag on this lip tint. It has two colors, one more slightly pink-toned and I got a red tint. It has a doe-foot applicator, sorry, I seem to forgot to take a picture. It is a liquid tint, no texture, just liquid, almost as runny as water.

Lip Swatches (First Time!)

Bare lips.

One coat of the lip tint, and it's already showing up very pigmented, me likes! :D But it's too red for my liking, so I decided to add a coat of my Tony Moly Milky Peach Tint to give it a softer red and glossy look.

Ain't that prettay? LOL! It has a strawberry scent to it and it taste bitter. I hardly taste my lip tints, I never do have the needs to taste, though Tony Moly's Milky Tints taste good but yeah, I never really mind it.

Repurchase? Nahh, it's a lot of product and there's a lot of lip tints to be discovered :p

Random Ranting : Just the normal haul for me :p

Assalamualaikum,

Here's another haul and the mask from Jasaengsu are basically a repurchase except for Jasaengsu's Hi Collagen Essence Mask in Sealaver.

Jasaengsu's Hi Collagen Essence Mask in Caviar, Pine Mushroom and Sealaver
I regret buying this, because I just realized that I have dark circles and eyebags to take care of and I certainly don't have any wrinkles, yet. LOL, so I'm giving it to my love, hehehe.
Purederm's Anti-wrinkle gel patches
I bought this from a friend of mine, she had a severe reaction to the facial wipe, I swear her cheeks were so red hot that it could cook an egg, half-boiled, LOL! So I'm going to give this facial wipe a review.
Formula 10.0.6 Keep Me Clean Clarifying Facial Wipes
This is from Etude House, I bought their Make-up Removal Cream alongside from my Holika Holika Haul, the Daily Garden Olive Cleansing Cream. I can't believe that I bought 2 make-up remover in one go =='
Etude House Happy Teatime Milk Tea Make-up Removal Cream

This is my purchase from TONYMOLY, as you can see, most products from Tonymoly are given good reviews, so I decided to buy the pore tightening sleeping pack. A review on this product will be posted.

TONYMOLY's Dr. Tony Poreclear Tightening Sleeping Pack
There's another reason why I like having to buy something at Tonymoly, because they always are generous in giving me free samples, I was asking about the Tonymoly's Floria line to the Sales Assistant but didn't make a purchase for the Floria's product, so the SA is thoughtful in giving me the sample of the line I've inquired.

TONYMOLY's Whitening Cream and Emulsion Sample
Again, I'm taking advantage on the Buy One Free One offer, I bought these two lipstick, which I find so awesome because they are moisturizing enough without having to use lip balm.

Make-up Review : Silky Girl, The Faceshop, Holika Holika

Assalamualaikum,

Today, I'm gonna write up an All-in-One Review for the selected brands above and I'm sorry that I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks. I've been very busy with Eid and also with my internship. We are basically given task to design a lab also make a report about network connectivity. Anyways, recently I have enough budget to actually buy make-up products. So what I'm going to do here, is just basically a short review in each product as I don't really intend on making it long cuz I need to ZzzzZzzz.

Okay, this is the products that I've bought over the month, Alhamdulillah, I had extra budget to spend some, after I had all my necessities bought.

Left to Right : Silky Girl's Lightening Liquid Foundation, The Faceshop's  Face It Radiance Concealer Dual Veil, Holika Holika's Silky Veil Primer, Silky Girl's Hydra Clean Makeup Remover, Silky Girl's Silky White 2-Way Foundation and Silky Girl's Blockbuster Color Palette
 1. Silky Girl's Blockbuster Palette.

This is the eyeshadow palette, the pallete is of natural colours and that's what I like most, I never really like to wear bright colours unless it's for special occasion, but then, I usually use this pallete before I even where the bright colors to actually blend in the colors so that it won't be too flashy.

Score: 9.87/10

2. Silky Girl's Silky White Lightening Liquid Foundation (04 Tan)

I've been using this product for years so I must say that this is a satisfaction for me in terms of consistency, it doesn't really stays up on my nose, because my nose is very oily, kept secreting oil that by an hour, my nose will be so shiny that there's hardly any make-up left. But however, it is good in blending any of my skin's flaw.

Score : 7.89/10

3. The Faceshop's Face It Radiance Concealer Dual Veil ( Natural )

This is a 2-in-1 concealer, it has the cream stick and also the liquid stuff, I usually use the cream stick for all my acne star and the liquid for my dark circles. To my preference, when cream stick is used for dark circles, it won't really blend well onto my skin, that's where the liquid concealer comes in handy and it does help brightens up the dark circle which is very awesome

Score : 8.45/10

4. Silky Girl's Hydra Clean Makeup Remover

This one, I absolutely love, it actually works like a facial cleanser but only better! It effectively removes any leftover makeup and it leaves the face (after you cleanse it) felling very smooth and supple unlike when you wash your hand with soap. It contains Vitamin E and Aloe Vera which is a plus because Aloe Vera is very good for the skin, in fact, I bought a Aloe Vera Gel from Amway for skin conditioning also to reduce any acne scars or break out.

Score :  10/10

5. Holika Holika's Silky Veil Primer

This product I absolutely rave about, it has a very shiny sheen on it, it makes the skin very supple and it is also long-lasting, what I really like about this is that, it still stays on the skin preventing the makeup from vanishing itself, and it also keeps the skin smooth and supple WHILE wearing make-up and the ingredients doesn't even give me break-outs which is a very AWESOME news.

Score: 10/10

6. Silky Girl's Moisture Rich Lipstick ( 04 Illusion and 18 Appealing)

I like to wear these lipsticks the most because of its natural shade of brown, red and pink. My favorite would be the 04 Illusion because it is a match to my natural lip color. Suitable for everyday routine because it doesn't really have the shiny and glittery bits so it won't really attract any attention to your work mate. I usually wear the lipstick with a lip balm beneath it to give it a more glossy but natural look but now, I like to wear concealer on my lips and wear the lipstick alone, to give an illusion as if my natural lip color is according to the color that I used.

Score: 8/10
