Sample Review: Skin79 Bronze BB Cream

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

As you can see from previous post. I raved about how I wanted to try this product out, but never want to put out just because of its price tag of $50+ for a 40g? Although the price is reasonable for the amount of product and you know Skin79 is a brand that hardly disappoints you when it comes to BB Cream.

Luckily, I did go back to Skin79 store just to ask if they already have the sample for this BB Cream and they just re-stocked the sample. I've been using it a few days and here's my review for this sample.

The texture itself is quite creamy, easy to blend and doesn't have any problem with applying it on your skin. I had dry patches while wearing it and I'm glad that it doesn't accentuates it. The product itself has a nice, light coverage, just enough to even out your skintone which is wonderful.

It settles into a semi-matte finish, I can get away without putting loose powder and still manage to get 3 hours of use before my T-Zone gets shiny. Though if I do set it, it'll last a little longer.

It is such a lovely product but I do have something that bugs me about the product. It's the color, it's way too dark for me, it seems matching when I was at the store, but it turns out, it matches my skin when I was so tanned. I did mix this BB Cream with other light BB Creams and it did help. It doesn't oxidize so it's a good thing.

I think I'll skip this BB Cream, thankfully I didn't make a decision to buy the $50-something BB Cream.

Random Ranting: New Essence palettes and boxes

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I've been blog-hopping the other day and found out that Essence have released a few new products that actually caught my eyes. The packaging was a lot fun! They do seem to follow the Benefit's way of fashioning their sets. I actually have my eyes on the "How to Make Your Face Wow" Box. Though the others are actually nice to have but given how the packaging might be, I might not be interested in buying it.

I do wish Essence makes a few blush palette soon because I am basically bored with single packaging for blushes that Brunei has. I really love to have a blush palette. Also below, there's a few new eyeshadow palettes.

Out of all this, I really love to try out the Candies and Paradise eyeshadow palettes. I think I have enough neutral palette, although the nude palette seems nice. Which one would you buy?

Random Ranting: Where to shop?

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm currently in the mood to window-shopping while I'm being stressful at work! I had to write up a business plan and it needs to be done by Wednesday. What's more is that I don't have any knowledge of writing up a real business plan. I won't mind if this is a school assignment because I know I can nail it without even having to think about the stuff I wrote whether it's legit or not.

So, now, do you know any good places to shop for either makeup or apparels? I don't care if it's in the US or UK, I do prefer it to have worldwide shipping! So tell me! :D

Sponsored Post: How to Deal with All That Unsightly Facial Hair

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Having to deal with unsightly facial hair is a problem which many women need to face sooner or later - it’s apparently to do with your hormones as you become older and it is just another cross to bear just like the “menopausal muffin top” as well as the silver gray hair. Facial hair could be an embarrassing problem but it really is one thing which many women have to deal with consistently.

When it comes to getting rid of unwanted facial hair there are many options - none appear to be foolproof or indeed permanent but there are actually certain disadvantages and advantages to each method.

Shaving off unwanted facial hair utilizing a reusable or a disposable razor - this can be tempting and it might be quick but do try to resist the urge. Okay, so it’ll only take several seconds however it can eventually lead to stubble and the dreaded “five o’clock shadow” which so many men complain about. It might be okay for a quick fix but is without a doubt not the ideal solution over time. Hair seems to grow back blunter and stronger than remarkably and ever quickly in just a week or even hours.

Plucking is yet another inexpensive option but it takes an awfully long time - if you do decide to pluck unwanted facial hair (like eyebrows) make sure that you use sterile tweezers (alcohol is useful) and gently stretch the skin around the area you’ll be plucking. This is a very cumbersome business and can also be quite painful. Your hair will grow back in around 3 - 6 weeks.

There are plenty of depilatory creams on the market that may be used in your house. These contain chemicals which dissolve the hair and it simply wipes away. Make sure that you see the instructions carefully and don’t leave the cream in your face for too much time. Before you smother it on your face to check for a potential allergic reaction, It’s also a good idea to do a small patch test. You simply spread it on the required area, leave it to the prescribed amount of time and wipe it off having a clean cloth or rinse with tepid water. Your hair will start to reappear in just a few days.

Home waxing kits are available too - this type of hair removal literally tears it right out of the roots. You apply warm wax to the skin using the supplied applicators then leave it to cool before pulling it away with your fingers - comparable to removing a sticking plaster. Regularly waxing your facial hair can help to reduce the future growth although some growth will reappear in around 2 or 3 weeks. One potential problem would be that the hair needs a little bit of growth before you can next wax which means you risk walking like the proverbial bearded lady for a few days - not a nice look.

Drink plenty of spearmint tea - yes, drink it, don’t rub it on the hair. Scientists tell us that drinking spearmint tea helps to reduce the male hormone - testosterone - in the blood (the culprit making the facial hair grow) so drinking plenty of cups of spearmint tea can help to reduce the amount of facial hair which grows.

The growth of hair inhibitors are offered from some dermatologists - these are a generally natural product which are topically placed on the hair and changes the dwelling of the follicles meaning that eventually the hair will stop growing altogether.

Make-up Review: 17 Eyes Eyeshadow Trio in Smoke Slate

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm an eyeshadow junkie, there's no way I can't ignore any new and intriguing palettes. I usually go for those palettes that I definitely get a lot of use. So mostly all of my palettes are neutral and I can actually put each of my neutral palettes into every bag I own!

So having a black smokey palette/quad/trio is a new thing for me. This is my first smokey trio from the brand 17, I was given this trio by Ka Sheila from Sprinklerain for winning her giveaway, I know the winnings was from last year, so I'm really sorry for the late review of this product.

As you can see, there's 3 basic colors in the trio: White, Grey and Black. A basic color combinations to get a silver dark smokey look. It was quite scary for me to wear all of the colors at once because I am a big fan of neutral looks (who doesn't?)

The texture is quite normal, I won't say creamy but I won't say powdery as well, it's a little in between but it doesn't disturbs the performance of these eyeshadows. They are quite pigmented and shimmery, they aren't patchy when applied. Although I wish they were matte so I can pull it off for a day-to-day look.

They don't need a base to have good color pay-off. They can stay for about 8 hours before they start fading, but to make them stay put, you would need to apply an eyeshadow base before you apply the eyeshadows. I've actually used this trio for just going to school, I can either sheer it out to make it school-wearable or pack it on for an evening night out.

It might not be something I'd use day-to-day but I'm glad of having an option of when I want to dare myself to a grey smokey look.
