Want-it Wishlist : Sleek Makeup

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

With myself in a spending ban, I had nothing to do but to actually drool and window-shop at these online stores. So beware of these kind of posts as I think this is just one of the withdrawal symptoms of not shopping, LOL, joking! I won't say that I'm addictive to shopping, but I just miss them, I can't wait for January to come and shop for more products. I still have lots to review and I realized I have a few bits of mascara that I never get to review, so I'm going to start on that later on.

So today we have a brand from UK, Sleek Cosmetics. I swear UK is a very dangerous country for me to enter, as I'd be in a shopping frenzy. They always have these crazy ideas and great products with great qualities, so I would always definitely be lured into wanting to try it.

The picture above is their Blush By 3 palettes, I love anything in a palette as I find them to be storage-friendly and I'm not into single compacts that could clutter my makeup storage. I actually purchased the Blush By 3 palette in Lace but somehow got lost in translation, so I currently don't have it. I might purchase it again soon, if they do have discounted sales.

And also, oh the lovely palettes that are the cults in the beauty world. Out of all of this palettes, I would go for the Oh So Special palette (center, above) and the Storm palette (center, below). The eyeshadow palette are almost like collectibles, I'd definitely collect these if I already gun down a job, but for now, I would settle on just purchasing the two that I've mentioned. But hopefully, I'd win in a giveaway so I'd definitely don't have to repurchase, InshaAllah hehe :D

A tinted lipbalm for everyday use, need I saw more? LOL.

New Skin Tester Kit-Light-MediumCrème To Powder Tester KitPout Paint-Pin-Up

Also, I'd like to try out the foundation testers, but I might purchase the liquid foundation though as I'm not a big fan of creme foundations, but I might be able to use these as concealers or even bronzing?

Skincare Review : Essence Pure Skin SOS Spot Killer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

On another review with Essence, well, I hope you aren't bored with it cuz these are the only things I've bought recently. Technically, this has been sitting in my draft for months. I bought this, hoping that it could help me with my search for the perfect zit-zapper. As I really like the toner because of the effect its giving me, I'd definitely be repurchasing the toner after I'm done with it and also the other refreshing toner from Essence.

SOS Spot Killer, I'm sorry girl as this has been sitting long in my drafts, so I can't really remember the ingredients. But there's no salicylic acid and no oxybenzoate. The two most coveted chemicals used to reduce breakouts, so of course, I'd be curious on how it fares with my Oxy 10.

It comes with an unpractical glass jar-like tube, it looks like normal lip gloss tubes but it was made of glass, if I unscrew or screw the top, it would screech, so I was afraid of its fragility.

It comes with a brush applicator similar to nail polishes.

It gives of an off-white fast-drying liquid, and I don't even know why I bother to blend it out. But as you can see here, this is not something you can whip up when you're out and about.

I think, in terms of performance, it only slightly reduce swellings and redness, which isn't something I'm not looking for, I want it to be effective to zap zits. Since it contains alcohol, it is good for disinfecting wherever your pimples are located.

On another note, I haven't used this a lot, but I found out that if you do not close this off properly, the product will dry up.

Even if this thing is cheap, but it's just a waste of money if it doesn't do the job properly and doesn't even last that long in the bottle.

Reader's Opinion : Foundation

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I think it's about time that I open up a new section in this blog to keep things interested as I am on a spending ban and I'm actually doing well on it, I just have a lot of things to actually review too, so I'd definitely still have a lot of things to review and hopefully by the end of the spending ban, I'd still have a lot of things to review. I might even make a tutorial on how I do my eyeshadows, as a lot of my friends have been asking about it. Well, we'll see about that, I'm a big fan of procrastinating, lol.

So anyways, the real reason of this blog post is that, I want to know what kind of foundation that you readers use, I'm more of a big fan of BB Creams and I only own two foundations, Essence's 16hr Foundation and Silkygirl's Liquid Foundation. I love my Essence foundation, a little too dark on me, but I use it to mix with my BB Cream of the day, so that I have more coverage and matches my skintone. I never really try to use just foundation on my face.

So here I am, asking for your recommendations on what foundations that you'd like me to try :D

FOTD : Without Makeup

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Just an FOTD and believe it or not, this is me, without makeup! I didn't even color in my eyebrows or anything. Not even a hint of eyeliner, just lipbalm and I was off to my granduncle's tahlil. I was so busy before that, when I went home, I wiped off my makeup and all, without even realizing that I needed to go out again. I didn't even have the time to re-apply makeup.

Thanks to low quality of ze phone, it hides my hideous scar well enough. As you can see from the picture below, they are my cousins. So cute. Hehehe.

Sample Review : Missha M Boomer

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I think it would be nice to add in a sample review, as mostly reviewing a product sample that might have little amount of products that would yield to an inaccurate review. But yet, this is what I think on first impressions which is basically important for me to like the samples or not.

I got this sample from my friend who doesn't even like samples, so she gave it away to me. This was from Missha's official opening in Brunei. I used it during my semester break and I got around to actually post this now. LOL. But don't worry, I still remember the bits and bobs of the primer as this stands out from the rest of the samples that I've used.

This primer is different from what I'd like to use, a white emulsion with shimmers but when blended it will give you a brightened look without the glitter/shimmer being so obvious.

The texture is quite thin and thus easily blends into the skin. What I like about this is just the smell, the performance for me isn't so good. Although doesn't give a silicone-y feel to it, it still gives a smooth canvas to work on. However, this doesn't last me for more than 4 hours. It slips off and ruined my makeup by the end of the day. I have to admit, I was on a heavy-duty shopping that time, that I even climb up the stairs from the ground floor to the sixth floor. Yes, I can't believe I did that. So I was sweating, this would be where the primer is tested, does it still puts my makeup where it is or does it run off with all the sweats. Well, it runs off and it doesn't look nice on me when it does.

Purchase the full size? Nope, there's better primers than Missha's BB Boomer.

Want-it Wishlist : Benefit Cosmetics

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

On to another wishlist is something that I never ever thought about wanting which is the Benefit Cosmetics. We all know Benefit products are typically expensive for a person with a college budget, but I'd love to splurge on one of these sets, just to try out a few of their products at once.
First up, the Confession of a Concealaholic Kit, someone who are more prone to blemishes would love the idea of this gift set. I'm not sure if I want this kit because I mainly want to just try the Erase Paste.

In this set, there's a foundation, the primer and the pressed powder. I believe Boi-ing is a sort of concealer? I might try the Medium or Dark as I'm interested in trying out the foundation. But I don't know if splurging my money towards this set would be very wise as there's just a big probability that I won't use the foundation if it doesn't match with my skin. Looking at the swatches online, Medium might be a little to light for me and the Dark might be a little too dark for me too, so I might try and buy the Dark version as if it's too dark, I can just mix it up with my BB Creams but then, the Boi-ing concealers might not match me, so I'm in a dilemma here.

Finding Mr Bright set, I love to try this out mainly it has 3 of the this that I wanted to try, High Beam highlighter, Posietint and Erase Paste, so I might take this and ditch the Concealaholic Kit because I won't have to worry about how I would remove any of the product out from the box.

Then the Sexy Little Stowaway, I think this is quite a great bargain as it has the mascara, Hoola bronzer and the Bella Bamba blush. The two primers too! Also the four tubes, I think it's Stay, Don't Stray eye primer, Watt It Up highlighter, Sunbeam highlighter and Cha Cha Tint. Also lastly the Eye Cream that alot have been talking about.

I must say I won't be ready to buy a whole lot of this in full-size as I don't really have the luxury to buy and repurchase them if ever I liked them, but if ever I buy the Sexy Little Stowaway set, I'd be receiving a blusher and a bronzer, I don't think I'l be repurchasing those, cuz they are long-lasting and I'd prefer to try new ones than repurchasing blushes/bronzers over and over again.

Random Picture : A giveaway

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

A friend of mine is a hoarder of nail polishes and skincare but never makeups, however, she doesn't really like samples. So decided to give me the samples she collected over her purchases and all of them are from Korean cosmetic shops and she even gave the egg charcoal soap from Holika Holika, I must say that I will be giving review on the soap.

There's also a generous sample of The Face Shop's Makeup Base and Foundation, I would definitely get on with the reviews after using it.

Want-it Wishlist : Maybelline

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

Here's another Want-it Wishlist for you ladies out there, I haven't really tried anything from Maybelline, I think except for their tube lipgloss which I grow to dislike, not because of the product but because of the heaviness of that gloss just doesn't cut out for me.

But I do want to try their SuperStay Satin Glosses, I can't remember how many shades there are, but I hope there's a coral in their collection. I'm a big fan of lip tints ever since I discovered Tonymoly's Milky Tints so this would be absolutely nice to try if only it's available here, in Brunei.

I've never really read a lot of reviews for Maybelline's foundation and since I hardly own any foundations, it's time that I'd try this, I love the idea of your foundation with a foamy texture. Although a big risk in investing in foundations is color-matching as I am still up to now unsure of what's my skintone shade, but I think it goes towards Golden Beige but a little lighter.

The bouncy blushes has been given good reviews and has lovely shades, enough said.

Maybelline's gel liners are great stuff but the thing is the price has stopped me from purchasing this. I know this would be a good investment, but I just can't stop comparing the price with Baviphat's and Essence's gel liners as theirs are much cheaper for their good quality products

There's currently three colors available for Essence's cream eyeshadows, so I'd love more color like Maybelline's famous Permanent Taupe and Rose Gold.

I don't have a lot of blushes in my collection and I'm about to haul a few blushes from MUA or maybe not, I'm not sure yet of which brand I'm going to haul blushes from in UK, so Maybelline's is another option too.

I have two foundations at home and I want to try more!

It says SuperStay for 24 hours, a lip tint, want to try this too! :D

I never bought mascaras from Brunei's Maybelline as I find it too expensive at $18-20, I'd rather buy a 5 pound Maybelline mascara from UK. Even if I have to wait for a long time for my friend to arrive in Brunei, LOL.

Random Review : Freshcare and Herbarist Aromatherapy Oil

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I must say this is a random review from a beauty blogger to actually review aromatherapy oils but I don't think it'll be too weird to even review these. As I find it very useful for people like me who doesn't like pills for headaches or any sort of pills as I think it's healthy to consume so little but as time goes by, I don't think it's healthy to consume a lot of pills no matter what they are, could actually give you side effects as you would be more dependent to pills where you health would deteriorate without the pills, so it's something that I personally dislike.

I've bought three of these aromatherapy oil from 2 different brands, Freshcare and Herbarist. While the one in the red box is a stronger version of the two, this are aromatherapy oils that caters to relieving muscle pains, headaches, nausea, dizzines, flatulence, colds, nasal congestions due to colds and also to relieve symptoms of motion sickness.

What I really like about these are those cold sensation that it gives when applied to wherever you want, usually on your temples, forehead or nose. It does clear up my headache and it does refresh me a lot. Even when my nose is blocked, these oils actually clears it up, refreshing my nostrils, lol.

It provides a lot of scents, I don't know where you can find this in other countries but in Brunei, you can find it in stalls and minimarts.

Oh, this is where I've put my "minyak angin" to prevent myself from misplacing this as I'd definitely going to use this a lot.

Make-up Review : MUA Professional Palette in Undressed

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I'm one of those girls who doesn't like to really go on to any makeup cult bandwagon as sometimes they don't live up to their hype *Revlon Lip Butter, yes, I'm talking about you..* I don't even get sucked in from the most talked product, the Urban Decay Primer Potion as I think my MUA Primer and Essence Eyeshadow Base suffice in terms of giving vibrant colors to my eyeshadows and prolongs eyeshadow wear.

So, I was actually interested in buying the Naked/Naked2 palette but as I am on a college budget, I don't think I'd be able to afford any high-end brands, so I decided that a dupe from a drugstore/online brand isn't such a bad thing as it just sets me back for $8 only.

To Bruneian readers, this is drugstore brand from UK, it has very cheap cosmetics with a good quality despite the price tag. It's something that really takes beauty blogger by the horn, I think this is a cult product that's worth investing in as their eyeshadow palettes are the ones that really does well.

Undressed palette is said to be a close dupe to the Naked Palette, please correct me if I'm wrong. So many had blogged about this. I was a bit apprehensive and contemplated on buying it as I don't really like cult products so much.

I'm not going to move on and describe the shades as I find it hard to actually describe colors but as for now, my favorite would be Shade 2 and Shade 8. I even like to match those two shades together. I have no problem with their pigmentation except for the matte shades (Shade 3 and Shade 5), although I can get a little pigmentation with Shade 5, no matter how much I try to layer the Shade 3, it is still invisible and doesn't even transfer a lot of pigments. Other than that, I like the creaminess of the shimmery shadows as I find them to apply nicely and also have never experience any fallouts in their shimmery shadows.

As you can see below, I actually found a dupe from Shade 12 of the Undressed palette with Shade 3 from the Starry Night palette, although it seems a little darker in tone, it really look similar to each other in real life.

About this palette, I still prefer my Heaven and Earth palette as it has more neutral shadows than Undressed. To me, Undressed has little neutral shadows and it might be suitable for darker looks and transition from day to night looks. So overall, it's still a nice palette to have. And I don't have to spend a lot of bucks on the Naked palette too! :D

Personal Post : Adorable Aneeq!

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies!

I don't know with babies and frowns when they know their pictures being taken! LOL! But this baby is such an adorable baby, he laughs and chuckles so loud, it really gives me the urge to really pinch him. He's wearing a "Songkok", a traditional Malay head accessory.

My friend's son, this is the first time I met him, he's so adorable and he likes to suck my finger and my  outfit that night, we were at a wedding ceremony. My sleeve had this wet spots from where he played around with my sleeves. I think the embroidery and beading details lured him to create those wet spots. He's so tiny!
